So is it supposed to kill everything for a sec when the top goes up and down? Mines does it. =\
Courtney, define "kill everything". My observation was that the audio muted and came back, and my thinking is it is switching to a different "sound profile" for the top down.
Woolly had observed that he thought it was basically a "brown out" do to power draw for the top motor/hydraulics, but later "sheepishly" recanted...[;)]
Well, got my car back from the dealership finally after a week there and an additional 14 miles to check the volume control. Now did they really need to drive it for 14 miles to check on the volume control?! I think not. They performed the function check of the automatic volume and found that it was inoperable. "R/R over head control panel, performed resistence[sic] test of the background noise microphone, found that there was no continuity, replaced the microphone, due to an open in mic. Rechecked function, good at this time." Well folks guess what, they must have had some punk kid test driving it b/c 1) they switch the transmission from C to S 2) it was on a heavy rock station - almost blasted my eardrums out when I pushed on the radio[:(!] When I changed from FM to AM the volume drops down noticeably. Using a sound level meter, with nothing else on except the radio, set the volume at a fixed level, on AM the meter showed the sound level to be b/w -4 to -2 dB but when I switch to FM the sound level goes up to +4 to +6 dB [V] BTW, both of these were news station, not up and down music. I tried with other stations and the results were pretty much the same. What a pain in the you know what[:(!] I will have to bring it back to them to correct it. Not only that they will also have to remove what looks like shop grease from their clothes that rubbed onto my ash leather seat. This is so frustrating.
