Bev Love - sorry that made me smile, cause you've cottoned on to my surname!!! [:D]
Yep, love to make you smile, but sure can't compete with that grin I am sure you have from riding in your new wheels...[;)] [:D][:D][:D]
I just can't seem to wipe the grin off my face - and at the moment it's looking like I'll be able to get the top down for my ride home!!!! [8D] (My word, I'd forgotten what the sun looked like in Carlisle!!! [:0])

Woolly - can you also check COMAND Nav is not affected, as I think the coathanger eye poker runs that as well ?? Oh -and did you say you had the integrated phone system ? Not sure if that runs off the coathanger as well.

Thanks[8)]

Woolly, are you having too much fun with the small antenna to tell us how it went [:D] We are waiting your answer before we hit the dealers for this part.... I am in the same boat, I hate the standard antenna!

Baz - checkout my other thread - small antenna update - missive for paulo - it explains a very slight degredation in FM reception, but that aside, everything (including phone, central locking, COMAND and satnag work perfectly [:)][:D][:)]

I ordered the short antenna today at the MB dealer in Beverly Hills. I paid $70 w/ tax. Expected to arrive in 10 business day. I hope it works out great like Woolly's.

Thanks Woolly. If I order the small antenna, does it come with the small tool that you use to remove the original? Everyone seems to have this tool when the car was delivered to them [:(] except for your truly of course [:(!]

RE: Mercedes Benz Official Small Antenna

I havent got a small tool either!!

Was anyone in the UK supplied with one? My antenna just seems to screw off by hand!

I hate the look of the large antenna as well - I was going to try fitting the small one from the SL - anyone know if this works? (My cousin has a spare one he has promised to let me have although he still hasnt supplied this!)

If not i may just go for the £25 option! Is it the matt black colour like the base (the sl ones appear to be colour coded) - I presume you just screw the large one off and screw the new one onto the existing base?

Try babel fish translator - its pretty good!

RE: Mercedes Benz Official Small Antenna

sorry - one further question - if the part number for the cheap option is A170 820 0675 - does this not mean it is a part for the older 170 model?

Bazman, Vicpaluk
Sorry to hear about your small tool problem.
My GF assures me it doesnt matter and I can only agree with this. You can just get it off by hand!
