Although they said nice things about the Benz, it fell to last place. Not always being compared to pure convertibles didn't help.

I wonder how the SLK 55 would have fared in this comparo test?

These magazine guys are so horsepower/torque driven that the 350 is a light weight amoung heavyweights in this comparo.

A Viper vs. a SLK 350???[:0][:0][:0]

Sounds more like David vs. Goliath.

BTW, before their rather arbitrary assignment of points for price the SLK was in 7th. They also listed each contributor's individual ratings. The SLK rated as high as fourth, behind only the Porsches and the C6 (no surprise in a performance-oriented review) and was only as low as 8th with, I think, 6th being the average. On the track the SLK was 6th fastest.

All in all not bad. After all, despite many people's claims, I don't consider my SLK a real sports car. This review does indicate that it is close, though.
