Setting the time / clock

Hi

I'm trying to set the time on my 200K, it is currently one hour forward. Everytime i try to set this back an hour it never works. I also don't seem to have an option for automatic daylight savings adjustment which is supposed to appear according to owners manual. I'm in the UK.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

RE: Setting the time / clock

Without actually sitting in the car, I seem to remember that you search the speedo screen menus using the steering wheel buttons. You will eventually find the digital clock in one of the menus, then you adjust the time using the steering wheel buttons. Then, to change the analogue clock, you simply press the reset button on the outside of the speedo casing [left hand side]. You will then see the hands rotate both back and forth before settling at the time you have set. Have a play and it will work?

Hey Owen - Many thanks for your detailed instructions re: resetting the analog clock. Is it just me? I looked all through the owner's manual and couldn't find any specific directions for those of us who do not have the Command system. With your help, it only took me a couple of minutes to re-set the analog clock to DST. [:)]

I snickered at that. As I switch between my Toyota van and the Benz, I usually give the whole dashboard a scan looking for the location of the digital clock. Then I realize it doesn't have one [:)]

RE: Setting the time / clock

I thought the analog clock would be controlled with a simple stalk that you rotated, like other cars. It's a much cleaner approach, though, with the sealed lenses on the instrument cluster. Pretty cool that it's synchronized with the digital control settings. Haven't seen that before with my Lexus and BMW. Guess that's one of the reasons why we pay the big bucks for this car, eh? [;)]

RE: Setting the time / clock

page 140 of owner's manual states to press R (reset) button to confirm the settings after setting the time.

It will also show up on the display, to press R, when setting the time.

I hope this clarifies it. I've learned a lot from the forums.

I didnt have to do the reset. I think as long as you have sycronize with command set on the menu. soon as you press back on the command after altering the time it changes. Just didn't mine cool little inteligent thing.

RE: Setting the time / clock

Pressing the R button after setting the clock applies mainly to those without the COMAND system.
