the car is fun. very, very fun. lots and lots of torque and get up, but i'm still under 1000 miles! i need to break in this car faster. guess i have to drive it more [:)]
i'm not too crazy about the HK sound system, which makes me wonder about the stock stereo. the iPod function is great but the sound quality on both that and radio is just okay. my uncle has a CL500 am i was blown away by the sound system in that car; here, i'm just glad it doesn't suck too bad.
COMAND is really, really easy to use, and belies the wealth of buttons on its facia. i can use it almost without looking down at it now; much better than idrive hehe.
the seats are comfortable, the blue leather is wearing well so far. no sign tear. but the side panels get dirty too easily, and the steering wheel is too close to the gauge cluster so that whenever i grab the wheel i can accidentally hit the cluster and leave a white mark on it.
awesome pickup. steering is first rate. i used to complain about the low-speed lightness but now i'm used to it. makes the RSX feel overly heavy now.
i still need to go to the dealer and have them check up on the remote-down roof function, but i cringe at the thought of leaving the car there and not being able to drive it the few days they have it. dilemma!
room is tight. i'm 5'8" and i find room to be fine, if not just a little cramped (ie the seat back is too vertically inclined due to the tight back space). the gas pedal is placed a bit too high than i'm used to, which makes modulating the gas pedal for smooth gas delivery harder than the BMW or the acura. but after 200 miles i've gotten used to it.
i still can't get over top-down motoring. the sun has been out and the skies have been clear since the very day i got the car (it was raining literally the day before.) brilliant timing on mercedes' part. sometimes i have my brother or my parents drive just so i can look up at the sky and wonder at the thought of having no roof above me. awesome.
it's not quite perfect; for that, get an SL. but i suspect i would complain over the monetary issues, as well as the fact that the SLK is a cinch to park and the SL doens't look like it would be. (turning radius on the SLK is super small! amazing!) car doesn't roll int he least on the fast turns. very stable and confidence-building. the sport suspension is perhaps a bit rough but not as bad as the acura.
I just went out for a little ride on country roads and totally forgot that I was going to look for a place to take a picture...just enjoyed the drive too much!!!
the advantage of my having Euro delivery 10/1 and putting 1800 miles on it in 13 days over there is that when I got it Thursday, it's already broken in[:D][:D][:D]
