To our European friends who are just now beginning to get their SLK's, has anyone figured out if the Bluetooth capability in the Command System actually works with Bluetooth enabled cell phones? It appears MB still has contracts with cell providers (Like Motorola and Siemens) and still tries to sell the cell/cradle system for rediculous amounts of money. A random check of local (US) cell phone stores, shows many new Bluetooth capable phones at very reasonable prices. Anyway, if you have figured this out, please let us know.
Thanks and congratulations to all who are getting or have already gotten their SLK's. We in the US, who still haven't even been allowed to order ours, are living vicariously through you. Please post loads and loads of pictures for us to drool on.
I'd really like to know if it works with the Motorola V600, with or without a cradle. I'm ordering COMAND anyway for the sat nav, but I'm not convinced that the telephone prewiring is going to be worthwhile.
I certainly hope MB does a better job with the phone antenna than they do in the CLK Cabrio....it SUCKS... I get better reception with the phone out of the cradle than I do with it in.... the antenna in the CLK is in the rear bumper they tell me and they for some reason can't easily hook up a outside antenna...I'm hoping the new SLK has a better system....does anyone know if it does ?
Forget Bluetooth. It don't work on current production.
This because DC hasn't enabeled this feature yet.
DC claims it's because of unclear Bluetooth standard. They have only prepared it for the future.
I know because i have it on my car and i have checked this out.
Advice. Order your car with fixed installation.
