360hp...? Isn't this the same engine as in the SL55, it pumps out 500hp. Maybe this is without the compressor. I don't quite see the logic here. What is the point putting in a 5,5l V8 with 6hp more than the SLK32, but increasing the total weight of the car with like 100lbs????
It actually reduces the performance of the car.

Engine 3,199ccm + (old) 5G-Auto
354 PS - 6.100 1/min
450 Nm - 4.400 1/min

SLK55 (R171) V8
Engine 5.439ccm + 7G-Tronic

360 PS - 5.750 1/min
510 Nm - 4.000 1/min

Someone of you say 'it's only 6 PS and 60 Nm' but in real world this 60 Nm is a big difference. Last year I drive SLK32 and 15 min later I drive CLK55 (I want to feel a difference), and I may say that CLK55 is real monster and SLK32 is his baby... [8)]
