SLK 230 Intercooler-Water to Air or Air to Air?!?

Hi, new to these forums, but not to turbocharging :)

Anyway, my question is:

Did the 2001 Mercedes SLK 230 Kompressor come with an air-to-air intercooler (which is what's stock on almost all turbocharged car) or an air-to-water intercooler?

The reason I ask is because I saw one on ebay in nice shape for a decent price, and it looks like it'd fit perfectly for my custom turbocharging project (of a 1995 Nissan 240sx). An air-to-air would be easy to plumb and is what I'm used to dealing with; a water-to-air would be quite different. If it is a water-to-air, where does the water come from? I'm assuming it comes from an auxillary part of the main cooling system...

This is the one shown on ebay...

Did different year kompressors have different styles of intercoolers?

Anyway, quick question, and I need a quick answer. Thanks in advance,
Marc
