RE: 10 new uncovered R171 pictures and new information
Excellent interior pics and info yet again from Torsten!
One thing I notice that is very very odd...
The heater control panel on the centre dash.
Its different in different pics!!!!!!!
On some interior pics I've seen its 4 separate rotary type dials

and on others, including one close up, its two rotary dials with buttons and an LED type display!!!

I don't think MB are going to provide two different varieties. It doesn't make sense from an 'economies of scale' point of view!
RE: 10 new uncovered R171 pictures and new information
You know, it's not quite the same car. One of them is manual and has the designo package, and it could be that (like the R170), you can choose to have some extra features (thus resulting in more buttons on the central console).
I 'think' the one with the designo seats is the 200 (since it's manual), whilst the all red seat one is either the 350 or AMG (remember that for that version of the R171, you can have the hot air ventilator for your neck and stuff, i.e. those all red seats have this hole in the back rest in another pic)

WOW. I love that design. Such an improvement over the current model, and also much better than any of it's competitors such as the Z4. MUCH much better.
The only question I have left is, when in the US? Are the dates on the website global or only to that country?
RE: 10 new uncovered R171 pictures and new information
What I wanna know now is, which one of the front bumpers is for the 200, which one is for the 350, and well... we know how the AMG one will look like.
In the picture I attached below, we can see the top two cars having the new sports amg bumper.
The middle row has SLK's with bumpers that look like the amg ones, but without the sports ventilations on the sides and a little bit less blocky looking (the parts just underneath the head lights). Could this be the 350 ?
And finally, the bottom row has an R171 with another type of bumper. Here the fog lights are not round, but rather arrow shaped (and a bit oval), and the supports that separate the fog light wells and the middle air intake hole, are shaped like this -> \ / <-instead of -> / \ <- like on the AMG (and the middle one). So, could this one be the 200 ?
I quite like both bumpers, I wonder if there will be a sports package of some sort that will give the AMG look for the 200/350, or maybe the middle car with the AMG like bumper IS the one with the sports package.
RE: 10 new uncovered R171 pictures and new information
Well spotted Shinigami, I think you are right. The more aggressive front in the middle photos will probably belong to the SLK 300/350, while the V-shaped intakes with arrow foglights will probably end up on the four cylinder models. I've seen a photo somewhere of a red one with that 'V' intake from the bottom row of photos and smaller wheels (possibly 16")-signs that point to a 200k.
Fingers crossed that they will bring out a factory sports kit for the lesser models to match the AMG's baby SL65/SLR design hints. However, if what we see in the spy pics is standard, I won't be complaining!
RE: 10 new uncovered R171 pictures and new information
Yup, the look for all three bumpers is really sweet, much better then the old SLK bumpers (standard look).
However, I've seen a lot of pics of the middle car (the one I speculated to be a 350) with really poor looking rims. Rims that I would associate with a low end SLK (200 ?). But they're probably just place holders since the car itself was also mostly covered in that black masking tape stuff...
