Need Help: Video Attached, Engine unresponsive to accelerator

Hello,

Facing a problem with my 1999 SLK 230, was hoping I could get some help??

It all started when I disconnected the battery and re connected it. The car would barely turn on, I was still facing these issues that are in the video along with a check engine light with P030X codes...

I went ahead and soldered the k40 relay points, yes the relay had the classic point burnt out, The check engine light went away and after looking up the codes now, the sensor shows 'no codes'.

the car starts up fine now, it even idles decently.

but i am still facing a major issue... i took a video of it to explain what it is, if you could please help that will be awesome, thank you so much for the help... I was kinda having this trouble before the k40 relay fix as well, but it was lot worse when it wasnt fixed...

Here is a video of the problem

Have no idea if this is your problem or not, but there has been more than one report of SLK owners having to replace the accelerator pedal. Don't recall the exact issues, but a search may turn something up related to your problem.

I had a similar problem with my car. It turned out to be the accelerator peddle. There is a transducer and pick-up there that malfunctions.

Did your car also often start badly? Mine stalls as soon as you start it for the first few times and then starts behaving the way in the video....

Is there a way to diagnose that part specifically? any diagrams/pictures would help. thanks a ton
