Please Read: Regarding Flame Wars, Moderators, and Other Forums.

There have been a few posts and I have received a couple of personal e-mails regarding the recent flame war. I was most sorry to see CarlJ's post since it implied he wanted to leave the forum, and it's likely that others are feeling the same way. So, here are some thoughts that might address your concerns.

FLAME WARS
----------
I think everybody knows that flame wars can quickly snowball out of control and I also think that everybody knows how to prevent it from happening. If you don't, then read Venk's post. It is 100% accurate.

MODERATORS.
----------
When I accepted the status of "Forum Host", I told Frank that I would delete posts for only the following reasons:

1. Duplicate posts.
2. Blatant Spam. I mean people selling stuff that's completely off topic or using automated posting.
3. Sabotage. This has happened only once since I became a forum Host (when RaVeR posted about 120 messages of garbage in a childish fit).

However, I would like to add another

4. Any post that the author asks me to delete, and authors of any replies to the post agree.

I won't don't delete a flame post or ban the author for posting it. The other forum hosts may feel differently. I expect that, and I respect that.

OTHER FORUMS
------------
I am happy to give the URLs to other SLK forums that I know of. The truth is that this is the most active SLK forum on the internet in English (Torsten's forum at mbslk.de is more active, but in German). Being the most active means this forum has the most off-topic and the most flame posts, but it also means it has the most useful and informative posts, and the largest audience from which to receive feedback and advice.

I forgive Linh....

Everyone is entitled their opinion. Even him. I will let it go.

Maybe Some Advice

There is an old saying (addage) Love Me or Hate Me but please don't ignore me. Maybe you two ought to just ignore each other except for posts that deal directly with SLK related issues. Personally, I think BOTH of you have much to contribute and have contributed much. Linh has the expertise and Shane has a satirical writing style which I appreciate. "Now children, give each other their egos back, and go to your rooms."

Satirical writing style???

Surely you jest. I couldn't be more serious. I mean the cup holder in my SLK won't fit a super-duper, ultra deluxe, mocha madness from Star Bucks!
I deserve a new S600 because of this obvious flaw. And when it's suspension shudders at a stop because of a backyard lowering job I did on my own, I can then blame mercedes again, and maybe get a Maybach the next time.

No, Shane and Linh NEED TO..

leave. Personally, I think both of you should be BANNED from this forum for at least a month. But Brian has a life and can't police this thing to remove your stupid crap. So DO US ALL A FAVOR AND SHUT THE F--K UP! Obviously most of us are really sick of both of you. AN you still don't get it! Get a f**king life!

Let me tell you why I am so pissed. Way too much of your posts on here now are your crap, aimed at crapping on one another. You both post way too much and need to STFU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless some else asks you a specific question then DON'T POST! GODDAMIT!
