Cool TeleAid story

I have a cool TeleAid story to share.

Last week, I got a call on my cell phone from Mercedes security response saying that my call alarm was going off, and they wanted to make sure nothing was wrong.

Now, I didn't know that TeleAid was linked with the car alarm system. I had heard it was, but I had never seen it in action, so this was a bit of a shock for me.

I went down to my car, and sure enough the alarm was going off. After trying to reset it a couple of times, I called, Mercedes roadside assistance, and they had me test a couple of things, but they concluded it was a malfunction.

I immediately took it to the dealer, and they found there was a malfunction with the central locking/alarm system, which they replaced while I waited.

When I got back to the office, I found that Mercedes had also called my work number to let me know about the alarm problem as well.

I was actually planning on cancelling TeleAid since my renewal is due next month, but after I saw the demonstration with the alarm system, I decided to keep TeleAid another year. I'm pretty paranoid about my car, and it's nice to know that if someone sets off the alarm, Mercedes will let me know about it.

Hopefully, Mercedes will drop the price of TeleAid as the car gets older; I can't see myself keeping the system indefinitely.

we had a similar story when we were on a ferry in Puget Sound, the alarm went..

off because I hadn't pressed the tow switch and MB called us on our cell phone to make sure all was OK. The movement of the ferry triggered the alarm.
