SLK320 2003 KEY, IDLE, HESITATION

Okay, so I get only one key with car. Needs a little jiggling to turn the ignition. Went to dealer today. Parts took all my info then came back and
told me the part is no longer available. Same per the valet key.
I find that ridiculous, though the parts guy is going to call Mercedes and ask "whats the dilly yo".
I get the popular hesitation upon acceleration. Its dangerous when pulling into traffic and then sometimes idles at 300, ready to stall when stopped or in park, hence I think it may be more air flow meter than TPS. Any thoughts are welcome. I dont have a code reader. Autozone said theirs would only give a general code that probably wouldnt help.

Dont rule out the K40. Even though mine looked good and was a newer model mine was still bad. My fuel pressure would drop down pretty low when it was acting up.

After reading your post again I would swear it is your K40. When the idle is low does it seem to run on about 4 cylinders.. Does it act up more when it is hot? Does it start up sometimes perfectly then other times start up rough. If so I would say it is your K40 relay.

You could try the one at Auto zone. There may be a stored code. Cant hurt and it is free.
