That is about the import number of 190E 2.3-16 valve cars in the 1985 to 1987 period of their production. The 16 valve cars are indeed rare and sought after rides, and worth substantially more than the "standard" 190E's.

the 2002 had the highest numbers but as time goes by they will surely shrink. i only hope to be able to keep driving mine 15 yrs from now!

So yes, "as rare as hens' teeth" as Mercedes Enthusiast wrote in July 2005. They also wrote "Verdict. The SLK32 AMG was surely one of the best roadsters Mercedes built in years".
