MD, Northern VA, and Pennsy GTG, Aug, 16, 2008.
Date: August 16, 2008
Time: From about 5 PM to ?
Place: Olney, Maryland at the Olney Town Center Shopping Center. Map of 18101 Town Center Dr Olney, MD by MapQuest
We should be parked Northwest of the star in the Map Quest guide, in the second or third parking rows. It will be obvious when you get there.....
Don't eat before you get there, because there are a number of decent restaurants on site and nearby, as well as fast food joints if you're in the mood for a cholesterol overdose.
Normally there are a number of car clubs that meet there to show off and “chew the fat” with the other car buffs, we can join them. I have seen everything from a 1940’s Packard and a “Torpedo Back" Pontiac to a few “Hot Rods”, to some rather mean Street Rods, one guy came all the way from New Jersey!
It should be a fun deal, because you never know who or what will be there.
Well I’ll be dang, Looks like it will be a beautiful day Saturday, also the wife and I will be off. I think we will go by and say hi to some of you nice folk.
See you there, Guy

You guys missed "Purple" at the GTG............. They weren't kidding when they said the car was PURPLE............
I first saw the car going through an intersection, from about a quarter mile away, kind of hard to miss..... The car has a fantastic paint job, first class, and if not for the metalflake, could easily be mistaken for a factory painted car.
Other cars of note there were a classic Caddilac engined '32 Ford roadster, a Chevy Chevelle mounting an 8-71 blower with dual four barrel carbs on top, a 1962 A-H Sprite in great shape, a new Dodge Viper, and probably thirty more cars that were worth looking at.
You missed a good one............... Maybe next time.
I got their too late, saw a girl in a red 65 convertible Mustang driving off along some other cool cars, one guy in a 40s pickup was admiring my car as I admired his truck. I also saw one of my dream cars, a powder blue Stingray. I would have been there sooner had I not washed my car. We ate at the Olney Mickey Dees and drove back home.
Here's a sneak photo I took while leaving the "restaurant", there were a ton of kids at the silver car so I wanted to be incognito.
