wow something bazzle doesnt know i though he knew everything
BNP is a brunch od racist tosser who thinks if you are english you own the world and all non white british should go back to where they come from
And I really can't see how having to pay twice the tax will stop people using there cars...the tax if not related to how much you use the car, its an ownership tax, so if I have to pay twice as much then why should I leave the car at home and find alternative means of transport...it makes no sense to raise taxes on cars in this way that already exist.
But sneeky labour back dated it to 01 and did not tell anyone, They slipped it out on a day with a shit storm was raging about something else, As they do !

Well the good old labour government comes to the rescue for the environment in the only way they can think of...by taxing people...that was their same answer recently to tackle the problem of binge drinking, they put tax on drink, yet only a few years back they agreed to longer bar opening times and town planners have encouraged bars and clubs into the town centres to be grouped together...these are the same planners that allow out of town shopping zones to spring up around the edges of major towns and cities that are impractical to get to without a car!
Would it make anyone sell their "polluting" cars to avoid the tax? well I can imagine it's going to be hard to sell an SLK now without dropping the price which is pointless if you are trying to save money on the tax...so i shall be keeping mine and using it for every tiny little journey...if i am paying to pollute then why shouldn't i?
but it doesnt make sense
Insurance, £800
Road tax £430
10000miles a year @ 25mpg = 400 gallons @ £5 = £2000
so without maintence it cost £3230 for a year for 10000miles
on my other car Renault Scenic 1.5dci
insurance £250
Road tax £115
10000miles at 50mpg 200 gallons @ £5.40 = £1080
total £1445
so its £3230 vs £1445 a big difference hence i am selling my car and getting a fiesta tdci that is even cheaper to run, £35 road tax, 60mpg

Labour Gov doing the exact same here, also same planning , bars etc etc etc....
You current taxation regime is unfairly biased against motorists on a modest income. In particular, the Chancellor's outrageous retrospective application of VED bands to all post-2001 vehicles shows just how out of touch your government is with the reality of life.
Under your government, my costs are set to rise next year by over 10 x the rate of inflation due to the rising cost of petrol, associated tax and tax-on-tax, as well as this unjust 100%+ rise in VED.
I have already written to my local MP to ask for his support; I now write to you to ask you to scrap the budget proposals and proposed fuel escalator tax by:
1. Retaining the pre-budget VED banding.
2. Retaining the exemption for pre-2006 vehicles.
3. Abandoning any thought of the 2p tax rise.
If you fail to take swift action over this, I predict that the loss of public confidence in your government will increase exponentially."
I also wrote to my local MP. He happens to be the Leader of the Opposition, David Cameron, who will be the next Prime Minister when the nation shitcans these lying NuLabor spin artists.
