I think I've been screwed.

I was charged $950 for a new PSE Pump around 6 weeks ago at a dealer. Since then, every 2-3 weeks, it stops working again ( Locks, alarm, etc). We've taken it back two times now, and they can't find what is shorting it out. They say it is the first 10 amp fuse under the hood that keeps blowing. I'm thinking that the old PSE never was blown, and now I've paid $950 for nothing. I had this car for over 2 years, never had this problem. What are the chances that my old PSE Pump was toast, AND there was a short circuit somewhere?

Is there anyplace common to look for a short ? Anyone else had this problem?

I do still have the Old PSE Pump.

Plug the old one back in and see if it blows the fuse.

Sounds like the new one has the short.

They claim the old one was "blown". I hate to go sticking my hands down there again, they made sure they mentioned the fact that the old one had been opened (I did, to see if it was wet or rusted). I thought the pumps had to be programmed to the car when installed new- Is it possible that I could mess something up by putting the old one back in?

Well I have read both here.
Some have replaced the pump without programming from the dealer and some have said they took it in and they programmed it.
