Hi all. I'm looking for other folk's opinions. I'm thinking of stepping up to something a little larger, likely a 2005 CLK 500. I would expect to get no more than $19000 from a dealer (non-MB) based on the NADA valuations. How much would you estimate I could sell to a private party for, and most importantly, how long would you think it would take to find a buyer?
2001 SLK 320, firemist - black/white interior, 48500 miles, no CD or heated seats, dealer maintained, new rear tires (Kumho) front brakes and ball joints within last 2000 miles. Very good condition inside and out (usual dash blemishes fixable with Viponds, one small dent on driver's A pillar).
Location is MD suburbs of DC.
Thanks in advance for the input.
Search around and try to find the market price for your car. Offer at that price, it will definitely be higher than trade in. Leave it on the market for a month or so and if it doesn't sell, then trade it in. You can always trade it in but if you are not in a hurry you could get more by selling it yourself.
