How many miles per tire do you get?

On average, how long are you all going before having to replace your tires? (talkin' normal road driving here...)

It looks like I'll have to replace at least my rear tires now; it's only been about 20k. Goodyear Eagles. Curious to know how that compares to others' experience.

Plenty. I think I got ~24k miles out of my stock Conti 2's but the rear were very bald. Great traction in the dry. Not so fun in the wet. Hit a puddle and talk about the pucker factor

14000 mi for Kuhmo ASX. This is the hardest rubber tire I can find for the 99 SLK230 Sport model. This is the best mileage I get for almost all in-town driving (Dallas area). Our freeways make all tires scream since they have a roughed upper surface to keep skidding and hydroplanning down. Most everyone goes 75 - 80 mph. Of course when you dirve in surburbia then everything is a 90 degree corner. If you take most of them at 20 - 25 then your tires wear considerably.

Have just mounted the Nitto Invo ... fantastic traction, easily negotiated the 3 in/hour rain storm we were having at lunch and it held like glue even when I saw two other cars lose control for a bit. Softer rubber though so we will see how they compare. Very quiet tire too.

I thought Wales was a small country...

Don't know yest - haven't ever had a set of tyres from new to worn - the previous to last set of Dunlop SP1000s were still going strong at 40,000kms (24,000mi) when the car got totalled. I have new Continentals on the replacement SLK.

Got about 20K on 3 sets of Dunlops...I thought that was terrible (and so did the store that sold them to me, they credited my next purchase each time for the amount of time the tires should have lasted 40K).

I bought YOKO AS430 and have put 17K on them, and they look like they will last another 17K. I'd recommend them.

40k miles out of a set of tires? That is like rolling around on some FlintStones round rocks.

That hard of a tire is great for a Camry, Accord, Crown Vic, etc. Something that is designed to cruise, but not handle very well or accelerate all that fast.
