My normal response is my SLK320 will to 0 to a speeding ticket anywhere in the U.S. in less than 7 seconds. MB says an '01 SLK320 manual should do 0-60 in 5.4 seconds.

I have to call shanagins on a 5.4 sec 0-60. I think the 320 feels more like a Grand Am "GT" than a Nissan 350Z.

Fortunately the mass of the SLK whilst good for us is not to good for off line drags (even though they go pretty good )

If they weighed the same as a Mazda miata etc they would be a real rocket but "may" not perform as well with longevity or that unfortunate accident.

I was wrong the '01 SLK320 (auto and manual) 0-60 6.6 seconds. I guess I should say 0 to a speeding ticket in any state in less than 8 seconds. Teach me to go from memory.

The Grand Am GT had about 175-185 HP in it's 3.4L and was definitely not a roadster type ride.

Give us a little more credit than that.
