1998 SLK 230 How to change the tranny oil?

Hello again all,

yes it is your rookie SLK230 owner once again with help questions. I need to know how to change the tranny oil in my 1998 SLK 230 5speed auto. I know you must use the Magic Oil, gaskets and filter from the dealer. I found the dip stick on ebay. So, all I need to know is there any instructions anywhere on the forum or internet? Is there any special tools or tricks I need to know. Any help would be greatly appreicated. I do not want to have to purchase a new transmission.

Thanks for your patience and help.
John

I like: "Get power drill with carbide drill bit. Drill hole in bottom of transmission case. Drain out old oil. JB-weld hole shut. Add new oil. Done."

Good luck with it jmorino, - your model should have the drain on the torque conv. which is a real plus!

Think about putting a magnet in the pan - I think they put one in later.

Use loctite on the 6 bolts - peace of mind!
