Question To spoil or not ?

Well I'm considering puting a body kit on our 98 SLK 230. My question is... If I mount a rear spoiler on the trunk, could the spoiler cause aditional wind noise and or turbulance in the cockpit with the top down? If you have a spoiler your opinion is appreciated.

You are aware of course that a spoiler with the roof down is useless.....

That's as it should be. You have it and like it...
The comment was only to point out that as far as aero forces are concerned, the turbulance over the windshield destroys any lift anyway. Is there anymore noise that you might have noticed?

Only difference I have noticed(or think I have) is that car seems to hug road better at higher speed.
You know,slightly-ahem-above speed limit.

The spoiler is part of a body kit I'm considering. I'ts purely cosmetic. The kit comes with front spoiler, side skirts.rear lower skirt and trunk spoiler. Just thinking about giving the 98' a more modern look..!

By the way, the only bumper worth buying is the one from Leven Tuning. If you already have stock sideskirts, that's all you'll need.

I found a kit from RIEGER racing,It looks great. My 98 doesn't have any ground affects at all. I'ts just painted black around the bottom and the body color is yellow. I'm a newbie MB owner, Finally paid off enough bills to afford a twoseater toy. We had a motorcycle, but I never felt safe always worrying somthing was gonna pop out in front of me "A lot of DEER and crazy drivers in upsate New York" This car was in my price range well taken care of so we bought it about a year ago.
They say plastic is the easiest to fit .Does any one know of other kits available?
