Question 98 SLK 230 rear wing window

Does anyone know why my right rear wing window doesn't come up when I close the roof. Everything works fine except the wing window doesn't close. I can get it to close after playing with the top a couple of times or driving around and flipping the roof switch. It only does it sometimes????? Help what is causing this. Rookie SLK Owner.

Check that the seals around the opening for that small window arent loose and somehow blocking it's movement. I had a similar experience after having to remove some of those seals and hardware. I didn't put them back exactly in place, and one of them was rubbing the window enough that it restricted the window from moving. After I went back and re-aligned everything. It worked fine.

Just watch the window carefully while someone holds your button for the top up, and top down operation, and you'll see if something's blocking it.

I've tried that. The window just doesn't try to roll up at all. Then, a in a couple of try's it magically rolls up but, only after several try's. Someone mention safety switches???

hey, did you ever find a solution to this?

I was driving around today and my car started beeping at me and the roof light was flashing, although my roof was completely up. To make sure, I put it down then back up, and everything came up but the small fin windows. I can raise the roof and lower the roof but I can't get those small windows to roll up now. I hold the button and I can hear the whirring of the motor in the trunk, but it never completes the cycle. Maybe a faulty sensor or a wet PSE? I'll have to check on that when I get home, but until then it's parked in the garage because the incessant beep beep beep from the roof alert is driving me nuts!

hmm well I guess that means I'm really hoping I just need to dry off the PSE because if it's something else I'm going to be really bummed out. It's just a pain in the ass to get to is all, because I did a battery relocation to the trunk and the new battery tray traps the PSE in. The motor just hums like it's trying and trying to pull the windows up with no luck. I'm starting to think something might have changed when I moved the battery.

PSE is bone dry

Any ideas?

The roof sequence never stops, that little motor just keeps whirring and the red light stays on the whole time... little windows don't budge.

No I didn't it only does it sometimes. Like when I store the car for a week or two. Drop the top and when I raise it the right rear window won't come up. If I drive the car and push the roof switch it will eventually come up. I sprayed some WD-40 on the tracks to see if that would help. Making sure that the window wasn't sticking. Keep trying is all I did.

Anyone have a reference I can start troubleshooting with? perhaps a roof sensor diagram or anything like that? I've checked fuses and dried up everything in the trunk and am out of ideas.

Thanks
