Was driving along in the freeway when all of a sudden a ahole in a pickup truck changes into my lane next to my car; had to slam on the brake really hard with smoke coming out of the tires like crazy. Was able to avoid an impact. Jesus, some people are plain ahole stupid. Just had to vent. Anyone have any close calls?

This would be just another day of driving for me...I do live in LA and our freeways are overpopulated with a--holes...But alls well, that ends well
Get a really loud horn and nobody will ever come near you, lol.
Mine's 118dB and it stops people dead in their tracks... I once honked at a big intersection and everyone around pretty much hit the brakes and looked around to make sure they were okay...

I don't know how long you've had your SLK but I'm guessing since last Spring.....I found out very quickly that cars and especially trucks simply don't see me so I drive VERY defensively in traffic. I don't even bother to get angry at them since I figure that most of the time, they really don't see me. Glad you reacted so quickly and saved yourself and your car!! Be cool and keep sharp, you'll be alright!

Our cars are under the radar so to speak.

How true...how true!!! Last year July a moron in an SUV threw his car in reverse in the parking lot of Paris in Las Vegas and backed right into me . I was following him for 2 mimutes around the lot looking for parking...What was his excuse?? You guessed it...."I didn't see you!". I was ready to choke him...How the hell do you not see a bright yellow car following you around a parking lot for minutes..???
I would love to have a dart gun with little rubber darts with a flag hanging off that says Stupid. When you see a stupid driver just pop it out and nail there car with one of the little darts.
If a cop happens by a car with several of the flags showing then they could pull them over and write them a ticket for being stupid.
