Windows R170

Hi

i wonder if anyone knows a way to get the windows to autoclose (1 push button) on the windows ? my windows opens on one push, but need to hold down the button until the windows are all closed, thats boring :P

They won't do it for safety reasons...if someones head or other appendage were in the way the window continues up anyway. I don't think you'll find any car with one-touch up, only one-touch down. That doesn't mean it can't be done somehow, but I doubt any shop would help you do that for liability reasons.

Ok i understand, but i tought my old Bmw E36 coupe had one tough both ways, but maybe I dont remember correct..

Lightbulb

There are cars with one-touch up AND one-touch down. They also have a safety feature that works like this: if during the up operation the window encounters any resistance or obstruction, it will stop and reverse itself. Thus avoiding the problem of pinched fingers or other such body parts.

My W203 C-Class has auto up and down including auto open and close on the sunroof. It's just that the R170 was designed back when they really didn't understand how electricity works

I had a BMW x5 that was one touch either way.

I was told it was a memory switch and that it was quite easy to achieve.

Linking a permanent power to the right teminal was the solution given.

I was of the belief it is as simple as that.

This wiring diag shows when on down push a resistor is shorted out. I guess the same could be done for up? Havnt given it too much thought but
