Just wanted to share this story with you all about an experience I had this morning.
So, I'm driving down 580 and stopped behind a VW Golf VR6. He's waiting for the red light to turn green. I can see him eying me through his rear view mirror. The light turns green and he proceeds to peel out. I think to myself...hmm....I might as well give it a try so I gas up right on his tail and cut over to the right lane. This guy is about a car length in front of me. As I hit about 4-5 RPM, I start to quickly catch up to him. When I get about head to head with him, almost beating him, (about 90MPH), he hits his brakes!!! So I'm thinking to myself, what the hell? Now this guy thinks he beat me and is probably telling all his buddies that he beat a Mercedes this morning!!! What a jerk off!!!
Anyway, as I pass him off, I throw the peace sign at him...he clearly saw me but that was ignored.
My daughter has a 2000 Golf GTI VR6, and she tried to keep up with me once when I had the SLK230 (before the Pulley kit install). She could come 'close' to keeping up on open roads. I believe she has 176 HP, versus the stock 185 I had in the SLK230. On turns, she ALWAYS fell behind. She has driven my car a few times, and knows that the torque, handling, as well as HP easily beats her VW.

I notice when I take my car out & especially places were you really can't go that fast due to traffic, people sitting on my ass all the time others overtaking & changing lanes like crazy...I just CRANK UP the music & relax.
