I havent got it sorted yet, its booked into a Mercedes specialist this weekend so hopefully they'll diagnose the problem, fingers crossed, thanks for the picture!! Tried replacing this already still no luck!
Took my car to Mercedes Specialist!! today and still no luck. Diagnosis shows up with nothing, there were no faults with the car apart from ABS cannot communicate to the brain i was told, but im aware of this because the ASR/BAS lights have been on for awhile!! but the the car has always driven fine while these lights have been on! Does anyone have an idea what could cause my symptoms but not show on the Reading??? Not sure whether the main dealer will find problem please help!!
Car is surging or hunting continuously, sounds like exhaust backfire too!! also loss of throttle, when accelerator pedal is pushed no revs or nothing???

This sounds a lot like the behaviour of the engine when you first reset ME adaptation (including loss of ABS communications). But you say you have driven it? How can you drive it if the accelerator doesn't respond?
To get to the bottom of this, please explain step by step the symptoms, when they appeared, and what you tried and the results. It's very difficult to tell from the description so far.
Ok the car was driving fine, i replaced the cross member due to a small crack!! when i checked the car at the garage, the airfilter box and pipes were removed for access to do the crossmember change!!! was then told me car had ran out of petrol. Once i refilled the car with petrol the cae began hunting (surging) and was unable to accelerate. ive changed the Crank Position Sensor and the Camshaft Hall Sensor so far!!! ive also changed the Air Bypass Valve nothing has worked so far???
