No rocket science to this one...

Just take a socket wrench to the nut on the idler pulley. Pull on it to release the tension on the belt. Remove belt and replace. If the nut breaks loose, tighten it down and try again.

im a pitiful rocket scientist, a/c power steering belt has inverted torx on pulley, looks like shock attached to pulley, supercharger belt has no bolt head, im probably looking at the wrong pulley, access from above or below, thanx for your help.

All access is from above.
Only the 2 idlers with torx on end need pulling to your left to release tension.
The nut will not come undone as it isnt a nut just a shaft to grab onto. Nut is seperate behind plastic flip off cover (for idler pulley removal.)
I used an 8mm 12 point ring spanner for torx with one end cut off and a bit of tube welded on for leverage.
A normal long bar on a socket will also work if profile is low enough.

Put tool on torx.
Push tool to your left standing looking at engine from front (rh sideof engine bay)
Being careful of tension and fingers slip belt off idler.
Release tension.
Remove belt
!! Pay attention to routing.!!
Replace belt.
Reapply tension and slip belt over idler pulley
Release tool
Check visually sitting on grooves correctly

Start engine and stop straight away and recheck seating.

Changing my belts this past weekend but not having all the tools necessary to create the pulley tension tool I used a 9mm socket on a 1/4 inch wrench with a old spark plug socket slipped over the wrench handle and a 12 inch extension connected to that. There was plenty of leverage to move the tensioner. Thanks to oberoi for the pics and Bazzle for the easy idea.

Help please

Hi

I used an 8mm (hex) socket to relieve the tension. Worked great to remove my old frayed belt. Didn't work so hot to put the new belt on. Ended up stripping the torx end. B4 I got the belt on. So now I'm beltless and not sure what to do.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Put on a small pair of locking pliers and use a lever on the handle.
the torx socket is E10

my E10 is also in poor shape, so I just used a semi-deep socket and ratchet on the nut thats on same bolt. I think it may have been a 16mm.
