So, between my son and I, we got in 5 runs.
WE HAD A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!

Bottom line? I think ESP does the job it's intended to do. We got too much wheel spin with it off, and that seemed to cost us in both ET and MPH. Naturally air temp, humidity, elevation, etc., can effect the results. It was around 80F, with humidity around 75%, and the elevation is 160 feet above sea level, if anyone cares for that amount of detail.

Here are the numbers for my completely stock,
'01 SLK320 with 18K miles.

Dennis' Run #1: ESP ON
R/T = .713
ET = 15.219
MPH = 92.57

Dennis' Run #2: ESP OFF
R/T = .676
ET = 15.312
MPH = 92.23

Dennis' Run #3: ESP ON
R/T = .410 (Red light...BOOO...I hate that!)
ET = 15.255
MPH = 92.54

Chris' Run #1: ESP ON
R/T = .714
ET = 15.620
MPH = 92.27

Chris' Run #2: ESP OFF
R/T = .446 another red light :-(
ET = 15.863
MPH = 91.95
