HELP... Rear inside tire wear..Is this a camber issue?????

I noticed that I have a little bit of rear tire wear... especially left rear... more than right rear... I have a SLK320 MT and I did have it lowered.... Is this a camber bolt issue??? If so how do I get it fixed?? Would this be under warranty??? What do I tell the service reps excatly....to get it fixed...

You're exactly right....It's a camber issue. (more)

But it won't be fixed under warranty b/c you lowered the car which changed the angles back there. You could buy a Renntech camber kit to fix it but otherwise there are no stock adjustments to rear camber.

Frankly though, I have negative camber in all four wheels and love it. Sure the tires wear a bit faster, but the handling improvement is great. It's up to what you want. If you mostly drive the car straight for long distances and want less wear, then maybe get the kit installed. I really want to corner and drive hard, so I don't mind the wear....in fact I'm about ready to get my new S-03s! :-)

Yep, camber issue. I had Eibachs (AMG) on my 230...I think it's inevitable for SLK's

to have negative camber for the rears when lowered because MB doesn't make adjustable camber bushings as OEM. You'd have to resort to K-mac for bushings.

You could try a harder tire compound like RE730 to reduce the wear rate.

Or ~$275 for K-Mac.

Tirewear will be the same if you drive it hard (m)

The negative camber disappears on hard cornering, leaving a flat contact patch.

Speaking of tirewear, I wore out my last set of Toyo T1-S in a record 3 weeks! Anyone beat that?? =)

You really need a trailer hitch so you can pull a few tons........

that MIGHT slow you down a little..... ;-)

All cars get negative camber when lowering...

it's suspension geometry. I've decided to live with my negative camber on my lowered integra and just deal with the uneven tire wear. I'm going to get rid of it soon and a set of tire is the same price as the camber kit, so screw it.
