Front License Plate Bracket

I recently purchased a 2001 SLK in Magma Red with 3,000 miles. I live in NY, which requires a front license plate. The dealer told me he could put one on, but they come standard in black. Is this true, or is it possible to order it to match the color of your car? Obviously I would prefer to have it match the car color. I may just have to have the factory one painted. Any suggestions?
