Anyone who installed the aftermarket radio...

Is there any trick to connect the constant power wire?
Because I just installed kenwood KVT-911dvd, but somehow once I pull out the key from the car radio resets itself..
So I had to adjust the bass and trouble everytime I start the car..
It happened with my previous radio too.. I thought the fuse on the yellow wire was burned but it isn't.. SInce it happened with two radios.. I am sure it is not the radio problem..
Any ideas???
Thanks..

Jordan, do you use a universal harness for MB cars?

Some harnesses comes with a wrong diagram in color
on ACC power wire and Const. power wire especially
if you use a VW harness.
I think it is because of difference of models and years.
Universal ones are too universal.
Why don't you try switching ACC wire and Const wire the other way around.
I believe you will make it in this way.
I had the same experiences in the past with my VW.
If you have an electrical tester, you can check it
in advance. But it's no big deal if you will connect
wrong way as to ACC and Cont.

Worth giving it a try.
How did the install go?

As a fellow 911DVD owner, how long did your install take? Did you mount the controller behind the passenger seat? Got pictures? Did you do the MP3 upgrade? Details, details.

I found that by running the TV antenna along the underneath portion of my rear windscreen and then down each pillar that I get awesome reception.

If you haven't checked out my install, follow the link below. Welcome to the 911 SLK club.
I saw your website....

That is where I got the ideas from..
It took about 5 hours to do the installation.. Hiding those huge wires was hardest part.. :)
And Actually I didn't mount the controller behind the seat, instead I mounted it under the glove compartment.. There was a plastic piece underneath it. And it is completely hided..
For the TV antenna I mounted same as you did, but when I turn the TV on while I drive, I get shaking receiption.. I guess it is because I am in country area.. I'll try in the city later and see how it is..
For the speakers I used factory speaker, I connected it with rear speaker wire, and I installed the 2 additional tweeters with front speaker wire and mounted on the top of the dash board..
It sounds really good, but still need some more bass...
Since my digital camera is broken( somehow it won't take the picture...).. I couldn't take the picture...
And can you explain more about mp3 upgrade? did you download the software for it?
Your website helped me a lot...
Thanks..

911DVD MP3 Upgrade

I have a friend who lives in Japan and he sent me the CD. I can create an ISO image of the disc if you have a CD burner and you can grab it from my FTP site or I can mail you a copy of the CD.

What you do is insert the CD then power the car down. Power the car back up and half way through the 911 boot up it checks the CD/DVD and reads it. It detects that it is a valid update ROM and when the screen comes up you'll see a bunch of Japanese text. It takes 2-4 minutes to complete and then you have to eject it and then shut the car off again. The next time you boot it up, you can now play MP3 CD/R's and ANY Region DVD plus you will have the latest 911DVD Bios. I love this deck cause it reminds me of my Denon DVD deck the way it is so upgradeable.

When you are ready for the Sat Radio hack, let me know cause you'll use the same antenna that is on your trunk used for GPS by Teleaid.

Gary
Scottsdale, AZ
