I have a 4 yr old 32, 35k miles. Just developed a fault that Merc cant fix. At about 4500 rpm or under very heavy acceleration the kompressor cuts out (leaving me in very bad situations!). Merc put in on the computer and found a B28 fault - inlet pressure too high and changed the sensor. Has made no difference. They don't know what to do now. Anyone any ideas as I don't fancy paying for Merc's leaning curve. Tim.

RE: SLK 32 AMG power loss
If the dealer doesn't know what's wrong, ask to have the Zone Rep. look at the car. The Zone Reps. cover all the dealers in your area and see a lot more strange things then any given dealer. They also are in contact with the other Zone Reps. that cover the rest of the country. What can take a mechanic hours to find is usually found by a Zone Rep. in minutes....
Sounds like a faulty intercooler or intercooler water pump. The intake temps gets too high and disengages the supercharger, but oddly enough it doesn't get registered in the ecu. If you have access to a OBD2 scanner, plug it in and see what the intake air temperature is (IAT).
Check the fuse for the intercooler water pump. It could be simple as that.

Had same intermittent problem on my old 02 slk 32 AMG, limiter cut in suddenly above 4,500 revs as a saftey measure and I lost power, had to book it in twice to Mercedes of Gatwick, they puzzled over it before telling me it was a faulty valve of some sort, went fine after that.
Hello Everyone! Finally, after months of searching for a fix to my similar problem (at 100Km +, the supercharger would not work, intermittantly), the problem was found! The Aux watercooler on the supercharger was not working, so when it heated up, the supercharger would automatically shut down. The code that was found was P2027, indicating that the intake temp was too high. The dealership had already check the codes several time, but had not seen this one. If you ask your repair person to check this particular thing, they will be able to diagnose it more quickly. Now that the repair has been completed, I have my rocket car back! The actually part name is Coolant Pump, and the part number in Canada is 500-03-86. Thanks to this forum, I was able to point the dealer in the right direction. Good Luck!
One of the issues with the IC pump going out is that it throws a warning not a "hard" code or a CEL. This makes it very difficult for most dealerships to identify the problem.
The IC pump from a Ford Lightning is the same pump we use and can be had for ~$80 vs. the ~$600 for the MB one.
Or you can "upgrade" your pump and run something more reliable like a Johnson Pump.
