Dual Exhaust

I have a 2001 SLK 320 and was wondering if I can have my exhaust made in to a dual exhaust. Not just a dual tail pipe but a true dual exhaust. Has anyone done this? I'd love to see some pics. Any suggestion or advice?
Thanks so much

RE: Dual Exhaust

Suggestion -- It is an unneeded addition of weight. The only thing the exhaust will provide is a changed look.

Anything is possible with enough time, money, and the right shop or experience.

RE: Dual Exhaust

Maybe get a reiger rear-lip, then get a shop to make the exhaust... Seems kind of useless though. For every ass, there is an opening (or opinion ;). Darn, I forgot how that saying went [:D]

I think the saying goes, "opinions are like assholes, everyone has one."

RE: Dual Exhaust

I had the Brabus exhaust in my car. Supposedly gave a few extra HP, and sure made a nice rumbly sound while driving. Might require modification of the standard rear bumper ot fit the two exhausts (I'm assuming you meant to have dual exhaust on the left side, not to have one on each side of the car... in this case, it's too much trouble to be worth it).

RE: Dual Exhaust

Here's what I wanted (see attached file). I've been told a welded second pipe might mess up the sound and a fake one looks plain silly if it doesn't smoke. I dropped the idea because of the very real possibility of making the car sound dissonant.

RE: Dual Exhaust

On my wife's '01 SLK 320 I had the Aufwiederstien-Quadra 4-pipe system installed.

I was told it was the only one in the US. $1299 + tax/shipping ($376.81) + $660 to install at the M-B Dealer.[8D]
