retracting roof bends back deck panel with windshade on

Has anyone ever had this happen? My windshade was attached to the rollbars. When the top was put down, one of the folding corners of the back panel caught in between the windshade and a rollbar and bent up the back aluminum deck panel. Are we supposed to take that windshade off before we put the top up? I bought my car with it on and just left it on there...never had this problem in the past. Any comments? This is not addressed in the manual. The windshade was installed properly.

Never used the stock windblocker myself, but I'm pretty sure it was designed so that you could leave it on with the top up.
