Hey Kirill: too bad Team Electronics isn't open anymore in Algonquin huh? That was my hook up for years, andthey did great work. They even let me park my Type R in their showroom during the winter time to store it and use it for a display for Alpine, JL, and Rockford.
Damn, now I am getting homesick! Time to make a trip back home for a long weekend! -mJ
You guys are confirming what I have been told since I posted. JVC sound quality is on par with Sony, which means not very good. The list price of the unit might have been $850 but you can find it for $500. As far going ahead and getting a video screen, I don't watch DVD's or music videos in the car and I have a seperate GPS unit so why bother?
I am not a huge fan of Kenwood. You have to make sure you catch them on the right year. Sometimes they make high quality stuff then the next year they will go cheap and turn out crap.

Take ur cash and get a NAK, you wont be sorry. Yes the NAK's are very simple, don't do a lot crap the other ones do. They are understated but do their job (which is to produce music) amazingly well. If ur stuck on Alpine the new top of the line alpines coming out will have the same sample rates as the lower end NAK so it should be closer to producing a good sound.
It may take some work but try to find a dealer that has them hooked up. Here in SF I was going back and forth before I got my HU because I wanted Sat radio built it. I went to a high end audio shop and it made my mind up instantly. NAK is in my dash.
I really like the looks & sound of the better NAKs. But I want the ability to play MP3's/WMA and get HD radio, neither of which the NAKs support. Now if a NAK played MP3s/WMA and did not support HD radio (not to be confused with Sat Radio). I might be more tempted.
Of course I guess I could always get a NAK and get one of the HD Juke boxes for the trunk.
