RE: Car bucks and jerks a little bit when slowing down to about 5 mph

Jay,

I'm not an expert or a motor head, but get the tranny checked right away.

You may be low on hydraulic fluid, which means you're leaking fluid. Check the ground under the car where you park it overnight and look for small reddish brown dried puddles.

If you aren't feeling any shuddering or slight shaking from the engine when the car is idling and the RPM on the tach doesn't jump around, I don't think it's your engine.

In a previous auto (brand to remain nameless), the rebuilt tranny leaked because the repair guys didn't fully rethread the drain plug. It took a while for the problem to show up.

Take it back to the AAMCO shop that did the repair work with the paperwork.

How long and what's the AAMCO warranty good for?

Best of luck. Let us know what you find.

Sure sounds like the tranny to me.................

If the tranny is only 6 months old, it should be covered by some kind of warranty, shouldn't it?

If I recall correctly, some people in this forum discovered SLK's in general have some transmission fluid leakages. So yeah.. probably you should get your tranny checked.

Bucking while slowing down sounds like torque converter is not unlocking

Sounds transmission related, but it might be an electrical problem and not a fluid/hydraulid problem

i've experienced the same issue but it tends to happen only when i am going downhill at slow speed..the jerk feels like the gear is slamming...personally, i don't think it is a big deal since it happened to my brand new lexus before and it was software related and not the tranny..but i guess it is good to have it checked just to be safe...
