Beautiful morning, 240km/h top down top speed run to work racing a CBR...

My first top speed run in the SLK 320, with the top down (windows up of course). Didn't have a chance with the bike at the start, but he was mighty surprised I kept my foot planted and passed him at (my) top speed.
Are you for real, or just another RaVeR?

I dare anyone to find a road here that has a surface stable enough to support speeds that you claim 2B hitting.
Stay far away from my car, you twisted idiot. Speeds that you claim 2B reaching in our region of the world are downright CRIMINAL. Either go to a track or get on the plane and rent a car in Germany and go hog wild.
Crowchild Northbound, right after Mount Royal college...

It was 6:30 in the morning, no traffic. If there was traffic, I wouldn't be doing something like this. And the straightaway at race city won't allow for these speeds... =)
A very similar experience...>

I was cruising near a local playground with my buddy in his Mom's blown Viper and we saw this kid (about 5 years old) on a chromed Schwin with training wheels pedalling like crazy. My friend dropped into first gear and floored it beating the kid easily to the next intersection. The cloud of blue smoke REALLY impressed all the young mom's too. Unfortunately, we were unable to stop at the light which had turned red at the intersection (since we were doing about60MPH)and the cop was not as impressed as we skidded through the intersection narrowly missing an ice cream truck...oh well my buddy should be through with driving classes soon and get his license back in a couple of years. But heck, what's fun all about?

interesting..you were doing 150MPH. so i guess there is no speed limiter in 320.

I have no interest in trying it...(more)

but, is there a speed limiter on the 320? I remember reading the top speed was 153 (and 147 for the 230?). Just curious if you have the actual numbers. People seem to have a NEED to KNOW that type of info about my car. I just tell them, "it's faster than anything I've ever driven". This usually impresses them. Little do they know that Corolla's and Camry's have been a staple in my family since '75! :-)

163 mph or 262 kmh is the where the speed limiter kicks in!

There is a speed limiter but you can only notice if you have increased the rpm limiter. It kicks in at around 6050 rpm in fifth gear in a '99 230 Kompressor.

I think that is the speed limiter. It stopped accelerating at that point.
