Use a hair drier to make the emblems hot (distance 2"),...

then shift a piece of cardbox between the number/letter and the trunk or fender. Now very carefully lever the emblem from the car. If you were able to remove an edge so that you bring a finger between paint and emblem remove it.<br>

Should work. Forget the nylon thread methode because you will get paint scratches with it.

Try dental floss, followed up with the hair dryer method....

the floss cuts the foam rubber without damaging the paint. Once the emblem is off the remaining foam comes off easy with a little heat. A little wax and you're done.
