Driver side wind noise, c pillar rub? Please advise
I have driver side wind noise, imperceptible with stereo on, loud with stereo off, in the front and rear portion of the window. I have read lots about the dreaded C Pillar rub, is this it? What do I do?<br>

Thanks.
the wind noise is a common problem with the SLK. Actually, it varies greatly for SLK to SLK. I, as well as many others on this board, do not have a wind noise problem. However, many have reported very loud and unacceptable wind noise. Sometimes the dealer can fix or tighten the weather stripping or they can adjust the mechanics of the small triangular window so that it is tighter. This may or may not solve the problem. Again, its a gamble. The C Pillar rub has nothing to do with this. It is a small indentation or mark formed on the C-Pillar from when the roof closes into the trunk. The adjustments on the roof are miscalculated and therefor, when the roof goes inside the trunk, it rubs against the plastic inner lining in the trunk. It can cause this tell tale mark and sometimes a nasty indentation. The dealer in many cases can adjust the roof and fix this problem, however some dealers have never heard of this problem. There is a FAQ that outlines this problem on a member of this forum's webpage. I forget the address, but I am sure someone will post it. Best of luck.
