Chrome rollbars and grill? Santa might chrome my AMG wheels!
Who sells these, and about what price are they going for? How difficult is the installation?<br>

I'm asking because I got offered a potential Christmas present of chroming my AMG wheels for "half-price" (my uncle will pick up the other half) and was considering going whole hog on a full chrome package... After seeing my uncle's 1957 Chevy (see post below) in black and chrome I was feeling inspired. By the way, whomever said that black doesn't look good with age, I disagree. My uncle's '57 Chevy was repainted 15 years ago, and polished and waxed at least 4 times a year since, and it looked absolutely stunning - virtually new! It was repainted by a professional body shop specializing in restoring classic cars.<br>

I've got a 1999 SLK 230 Sport in the special ordered Obsidian Black Metallic and Oyster interior. Anyone have any pros and cons for or against Chroming her up?<br>
There is a black Sport with chrome wheels where I work. The chrome wheels look good with black from a distance, but when you get closer, the wheels themselves just don't look right because some of the details are covered up by the chroming process. Ditto for the stock 7-spoke wheels on the 230, but other wheels, like the stock wheels on the E320, look nice in chrome.<br>

There are a couple of downsides to wheel chroming as well. First, the chroming process can weaken the alloy. Second, you may have never-ending problems with air leaking from your tires.<br>
