i have a black slk. and i get those annoying little scratches all over the car. i guess they would be called swirl marks. i think it is just from me towel drying the car after washing it always. i use 100% cotton and try to be careful, but still get those annoying swirls. anyone have any recommendations how to avoid these. thanks thanks
since she is black and get a DryBlade - it's like a big squeezie but won't scratch your car and takes care of most of the water so only a light dry will be required. Other than using compressed air, that's probably your best alternative. I used to run a lot of exotic imports and simply used air to dry the same. You definitely want to use two mits and two buckets for wheels v. car.
If the car is well waxed (beading) and you just washed not, no problems
You hardly put any pressure on it. It just forces the water beads down off the car. I even used it on my old Concourse Lotus - PPG Ferrari Red - not a single scratch. If I remember, mine is the 'fast blade' sold in back of Car & Driver. I would try a bargain blade at the flea market. You get what you pay for. The key is the car has to be clean and waxed.
Why can't we develope paint that doesn't scratch? Is it that hard? Also how about bumpers that....
aren't painted so that if we BUMP something it won't mar the finish? How about interiors that are harder than fingernails so they don't scratch easily. I think car manufacturers are doing these things on purpose so that they can keep selling us cars.
have u ever investigated what size of tank one needs to deliver a constant flow of compressed air? Most tanks will run low on pressure, and not keep up with refilling.
