Hi there,

can someone please help to clarify how many O2 sensors a 1990 300SL-24 has? Looking at part supplier websites (e.g. Pelican Parts) I see that they list an upstream and downstream sensor. Part numbers appear to be different. I know the location of the "downstream" sensor (near the passenger side rear wheel), but haven't heard about an upstream sensor and it's location.

Getting O2 sensor related code 17 (shorted to ground) again so am planning to get a new one (ones).

Thanks much in advance.
Cheers.

A 1990 shouldn't be labeled as an upstream or a downstream - it's the only one. It looks like the Bosch parts finder site is calling for a 13152 custom or 15737 universal. But several parts suppliers are specifying a 13953 custom so I'm sure that will work too, and it's considerably cheaper.
