Sorry guys, wanted to send a PM to him, but I didn't know how to attach pics there.
bobterry99,
I wanted to take a chance asking for help/info, being an electrical guru for our R129's.
I have been using a CTEK Multi US 3300 trickle charger on my R129, and a few days ago, the "MODE" button has disintegrated, maybe due to age.
The 1st picture shows a new CTEK and it's "MODE" button, and the 2nd picture shows my trickle charger with it's disintegrated "MODE" button.
I wanted to ask if I can have an auto electrician "modify" my old charger with some form of switch so that I can again choose as to which mode I need for the trickle charger to operate on...instead of having to buy a new one from the USA and have it sent to my country?
As you can no longer use it, why not open it up and see if the inside PCB is OK, if it is only the knob it should be easy enough to fix up something, it is probably just a 2 connection device.
First off, to the forum moderators, I would like to apologize for not posting this on the blue sticky "Off Topic" section...please feel free in transferring
Thank you television and 1mbzdoc for the suggestions, I will definitely have a technician take a look...hopefully it can be modified.
I exchanged emails with one of my two electronics experts, and he agrees with the replies you got to your post. He called the missing button a "membrane" switch for which a cheap, ordinary mechanical switch could be wired-in as a substitute.
Thank you to bobterry99, DORIAN and RKH for your replies
I will search for a mechanical switch that could be used for the "modification/conversion"...when you press on the original "membrane" type switch, the lights move to the particular mode that you want to use, I wonder if using a "mechanical" switch will give me that option.
KRH is correct on my location, however, my son will be flying into the USA next weekend, if all else fails, I can ask him to just buy a new trickle charger for me. Also of note, there is a local dealer for CTEK here in Manila but the prices are double compared to the USA.
DORIAN may I ask if you have any feedback on the $20 trickle charger from Walmart? The price is really cheap, that having a 2nd charger is not a bad idea.

Chicky, I'll be leaving for the Phil early morning Thursday October 27 and I'll be in Makati (Makati ave. Cor. Kalayaan) late afternoon on Friday, October 28, 2016. If you want I can get you the charger if they are available at a dealer close to me.
Thank you for the reply, actually planning on having one of my employees to go "downtown"...actually a street in Manila, that sells electronic items. I even printed out a picture of what theoretically, it looks like.
:smile
