The SLR was a completely different model. I think by 2000 and all the sales in the US where the sport model which add a few minor differences from the basic model
I've seen titles where the R for roadster appears closely spaced to the SL model designation and they think they have something out of the ordinary. I think If it has both the staggered set of AMGs and the lower sport body cladding then it is considered to be a sport model. An SLR which is a completely different model will cost you no less than 100k
If it's a MB SLR McLaren that's a high dollar auto & much different than a SL.
In my business, 10-12 years ago a SLR was a Single-Lens Reflex camera :grin
& it still is except we don't uses them anymore :eek
Now I take much better, quicker & higher resolution photos with my cell phone!! :eek ....+ the photo development costs (thousands of $$ over the course of a year) & time saved (hundreds of hours in a year) it's what helps me to afford my SL :grin :angel:smile :laugh Just amazing :grin
Almost forgot what the SLR looked like. :angel :eek :nerd

Ok guys, The third brake light is not working.
How do I get to it and is there a way to check
the light,or do I have to bite bullet and buy a
new one (175.00) I'm in Pa. and car has to be
inspected, will not pass with 3rd brake light not
working. Thanks in advance
Car is a 2000 sl500
Thanks to everyone who talked
about the 3rd brake light problems
they were having. All the posts helped
and in the end it was a broken wire.
A spare light is always a good thing to
have on the shelf.
Thanks again.
