I've checked for air leaks and re-seated the crossover tube from the airfilter. The seals looked a little dry so the slightest smear of silicon lube on them.
Left the car idling for a hour while washing and tinkering, seems okay for now (idle smooth @ 700 drops to 600 and smooth in gear). Being intermittent though I won't know until I go for a decent run again.
Yup, I only used the tiniest smear, down-steam from the MAF. The product I used is water based and only has the 5% silicon in it so I reckon it'll okay. :wink
(usual disclaimers don't try this at home may kill cats etc etc)
Do the codes sound like an air leak to you? and what's this fuel safety shut of thing?
A while ago I had a new 02 sensor fitted, the old one (pre cat) had the wiring damaged when the flex disc broke up. I can't say I noticed any difference running with the 02 sensor unplugged or not. I only found out it was inop when I read the codes.
At the moment the idle is as smooth as a babies bottom in gear or out so I'll wait to see if it reoccurs. Thanks for you're comments.
