I have some of the vinyl on my hardtop starting to peel back with the original factory adhesive has failed.
I was wondering if anyone who has repaired theirs could tell me what type of adhesive they used.
Really looking for something that's strong and sets fast because I will have to stretch a few areas back into their original positions as the adhesive sets up.
I highly recommend the headliner adhesive that JoAnn Fabrics sells. I have worked with others, mainly the 3M variants, and the JoAnn Fabrics stuff seems to hold up the best from my experience.
It's expensive, but price is relative when you consider the hassle of having to do it over in a few years...
Just did mine! use masking tape! I used 3M auto super trim adhesive from Lowe's $9.00,same stuff I used on HL,so much better! has been bugging me every time I open the door.
For little touch ups like lowesguy did I would rather use that small bottle of contact cement with the brush attached to the lid. No need to mask off anything and contact cement bonds incredibly well.
3M makes an adhesive for just about anything, and a good pro paint/body shop supplier could probably name the right one.
