98 SL 600 Engine light on

Hi togehter,
Last week I was driving with my SL 600 and suddenly the check engine light, the BAS/ASR light, and the Water temperature light came on at the same time and the rpm counter went to zero.

Here are the failure codes after the quick test

ME1R

P1747 CAN from ETC faulty
P1384 Left front knock sensor
P0432 Left TWC effiency below threshold
P0155 Left O2S 1 (before TWC) (G3/3) heater circuit malfunction
P0160 Left O2S 2 (after TWC) (G3/5) no activity detected
P0161 Left O2S 2 (after TWC) (G3/5) heater circuit malfunction
P1149 Left pressure sensor (B28/1)
P0153 A Left O2S 1 (before TWC) (G3/3) correction range exceeded
P0153 B Left O2S 1 (before TWC) (G3/3) slow response

ESP

C1142 Lateral acceleration
-004 sensor B24/2 or sensor B24/15 Plausibility

C1022 CAN communication
-013 interrupted with ME N3/10 right

C1120 ESP yaw rate
-001 sensor N64 or B24/15

BAS

C1025 CAN signals
ABS not available

ADS

C1122 Body acceleration sensor RF B24/4

C1110 Wheel speed signal LF

ETC.6

132 Occasionally Engine management CAN communication or eng. temp. implausible
148 Occasionally Torque converter lock-up clutch, unaithorized locking
135 Occasionally CAN communication disturbed with: Engine management

RFL

B1102 IR signal wire from left door IR receiver unit A26/1
B1103 IR signal wire from right door IR receiver unit A26/2

RST

114 Limit switch S84/4 Soft top close
124 Limit switchSignal illogical
065 Vehicle speed signal (VSS) implausible

ATA

012 Alarm activated via ignition/starter switch S2/1
020 LF door actuator S47 No ground

IC

B1040 CAN communication fault to engine control module
B1471 Outside temperature
-002 indicator temp. sensor B14

AAC

B1227 Outside temperature sensor B10/5
B1417 Duovalve Y21
B1231 Engine coolant temperature sensor B11/4 comes from engine control module
B1419 Electromagnetic clutch A9k1


Does anybody know what my problem could be?

Looks like everything happens all at once. But some codes may be triggered by others.
I would start by clearing all codes and deal with the first one that comes back.

what year is it? if it is a 93-95 it could be the wire harness. i would check for cracking insulation around the wires. it normally would cause a lot of codes to come up all of a sudden.

somebody told me the problem could be a CAN connection plug. Is there a cable coming out of the transmission to a control unit?

That means you transmission is electronically controlled, so to answer your post #4 : there would be cable connected to it.

But there should be no oil running along that cable? or could that happen?

Why would there be oil ? it is electrical cable.
