I drove it like I stole it!

I had two dates yesterday. One in the afternoon in Seattle,WA and the other last night in Tacoma,WA.

It started with a movie date that we were late for account her makeup problem of some sort. It was pedal to the metal as I terrorized the streets of Seattle getting to our destination. She said she was scared but I think it was just the rush from the amazing acceleration of the SL 500.

Later, it was a 40 mile trip to Tacoma for date number two at speeds I can not post, but what a rush!!! I was truly driving my baby like it was yours and I had just stole it! What an amazing vehicle!! There is a permanent grin on my face!

I cruised home this morning at normal speeds and was just as happy. I absolutely love my SL 500!!

I love this site and have learned a lot about the R129. I've read mostly about problems with our cars but I've experienced none worth mentioning. I was actually fearful and thinking I should baby this car.

It hit me yesterday that I bought this car to enjoy it.....not to be afraid of what could go wrong. So yesterday and from now on.... it is on!!!

My foot is on the floorboard and I will find out for myself what this baby is capable of. It stops as fast as it accelerates so look out!! I suggest you stay out of the fast lane if you're cruising the Great Northwest!!

and just think, you have the "slower, economy version" (M113, lol) and not the fast, DOHC M119. (M119 hp 322, vs. M113 306hp). Don't know what year started, but M113 had Active Cylinder Displacement to help engine management, including economy.

I also have the R129 MY2000...plenty fast.
