Nah, could be many subtle differences in driving style, how many cars over taken, how many stops and starts etc etc

May be a fuel filter, air filter.. Sensors etc etc..

I get around 14.5 town driving per 100 k and.. On the highway down 9/100 that is outstanding in my book.

However, I'm not that concerned, if I was I would not have bought this type of car.

I just drive it.. And fuel up, whenever it need it

Same here. I have yet to measure mine but I'm sure I am not getting anywhere close to 27 MPG. My Economy needle is usually pointing east/northeast.

Benzkid89 the car on CL doesn't look too bad even if it doesn't say how many miles the car has and there are two soft top cylinders to replace but there are a couple of things that caught my eyes: one is the smallish dent in the bonnet and the other is the fact that the steering wheel has a cover so I wonder how bad the steering wheel might be under that cover.

I am getting the same thing about 15 city to 17 miles highway.

My 97 SL320 get's a little better - 17 city and around 22 highway. Better but not a lot better when you consider you need 92 octane.

if you are buying a M119 or M120 you don't buy it for the fuel economy. haha. they need premium. and premium being $1.33/L it is finally more affordable.

I am with you on that, if you want economy get a four cylinder LIGHT weight.
It takes a lot of gas to move 2.5 tons of weight.

The 113 engine has a better/more gears tranny, rpm are lower= less fuel.

Yes on a six cylinder you get better millage, that is in low speeds, over a 100mph,it uses about the same as a V8.
